POLYESTER REPAIR
High-Gloss Polyester Repair.
Modern piano finishes can be extremely hard and durable, but impacts may cause the polyester coating to chip or fracture.
The damaged areas can often be carefully prepared and rebuilt using specialist polyester resin before being levelled and polished to blend with the surrounding finish.

Will the repair be invisible?
Our aim is always to make the repair as discreet as practically possible while preserving as much of the original finish as we can. If it needs filling, the damaged area is carefully colour matched, rebuilt, levelled and polished to blend with the surrounding surface.
However, a localised repair is still a repair. Subtle differences may remain visible under close inspection or certain lighting conditions, particularly on high-gloss finishes where reflections can highlight even very small variations in the surface.
For absolute uniformity, the alternative may be to refinish or respray the entire panel rather than repair only the damaged area. In many cases this is unnecessary, more invasive and considerably more expensive.
Our approach is to achieve the best possible cosmetic result without unnecessarily refinishing otherwise sound original surfaces.
Think of it like a professional repair to car paintwork: the aim is for the damage to stop drawing your eye, rather than claiming the surface has never been repaired.
What types of piano damage can you repair?
We can repair many types of cosmetic cabinet damage, including chips, damaged edges and corners, impact damage, deep scratches and areas of missing finish. We specialise particularly in high-gloss polyester piano finishes, with other cabinet finishes assessed individually.

How long does a repair take?
It all depends on the severity, size and complexity of the damage. Small localised repairs may be completed during a single visit, while deeper chips, damaged corners or repairs requiring multiple stages may take longer.
We don't use any UV lights during the curing process as we believe that yields the best long-term result. For deeper chips, the polyester resin will take longer to cure.
Can a repair be carried out in my home?
Many smaller repairs can be completed on-site, depending on the location and severity of the damage. More extensive repairs, or work requiring significant dismantling and specialist equipment may require transport to the workshop. This would incur an additional transport fee. All transport is carried out by fully insured third-party specialist piano movers.
